HomeMemorial - Maury Oxenreiter
Maury Oxenreiter was a long time Rotarian, and an inspiration to us all. Maury grew up in Pittsburgh, served as a medic with the 289th Infantry Regiment, 75th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Bronze Star recipient. After the war, Maury received a B.S. and Ph.D in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and later earned an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Maury was employed by Amoco Oil for over forty years - in Whiting, IN and Naperville. He was a member and volunteer at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Naperville. Maury also was involved in many charitable and civic causes/projects including Naperville Rotary, Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry (past president), the Conservation Foundation, the Millennium Carillon in Naperville and he sat on the board of directors at Northern Illinois University and North Central College. He was skilled with his hands and was proud of building a dollhouse for each of his seven granddaughters.

Maurice F. "Maury" Oxenreiter, age 89, a resident of Naperville, IL, since 1975, formerly of Dyer, IN, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility in Naperville. He was born October 26, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Maury is survived by the love of his life and center of his world, Jean (nee Bailey) Oxenreiter, whom he married November 25, 1950. Loving father of Richard (Sheila) Oxenreiter of Houston, TX, Karen (Allan) Loeb of Brookfield, WI, Gayle (John) Weizeorick of Naperville, Janice (Martin) Johnson of Wheaton, IL and Suzanne (Thomas) Jorstad of Naperville , adored grandfather of Amy (Andy) Fink, Scott (Austin) and Ryan Oxenreiter; Jennifer, Bryan and Chris (Candi) Loeb; J.T. and Sara Weizeorick; Katelyn (Nick) Scates, Kevin and Shannon Johnson; Meghann, Jenna and Hannah Jorstad, cherished great-grandfather of Abigail and Emily Fink, devoted son of the late Maurice and Helen Oxenreiter, dear brother of Robert (Jo) Oxenreiter of Houston, TX and the late Edward (Dorothy) Oxenreiter and the late Aileen Martin, fond uncle and great-uncle to many, dear friend and colleague of many.
