A 29-year Naperville resident will join the likes of Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bob Dole and Bob Hope on Thursday when he is honored with the highest award the Navy bestows on civilians not employed by that branch of the military.

Frank Allston, a retired rear admiral in the Navy Supply Corps, U.S. Naval Reserve, will be recognized for his 10-year volunteer effort to write a history of the Navy's business arm, receiving the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award.
