On Saturday, October 24th, the Illinois State Board of Education held its annual awards banquet, honoring the Teacher of the Year and some of the best and brightest educators, staff, and teams in Illinois. A delegation from Naperville went down to the awards ceremony, including (left to right) Mark Mitrovich, District 203 Superintendant, RIch Fiore (D203 IT Director), Barbara Holtz (IT Manager), Melea Smith (Communications Director), Rich Stompanato and Sun Kwok. During the evening, Melea Smith recieved an Award of Excellence for her work in 203, and the Computer Redeployment Team also earned an Award of Excellence. The Award of Excellence is the highest award given by the State Board of Education.
